Meet our Nursery Team!

We currently have 10 members of staff working together to provide you with excellent childcare. Each staff member has been selected through a range of interviews carried out by the nursery owners, nursery manager and a selection of parents. Each member has been carefully chosen to bring unique qualities and experiences together to provide a positive and enjoyable environment for our children.

Our staff are also becoming registered with SSSC, which is encouraging the Team to further their academic careers and/or update their childcare knowledge with regular training courses.

Our Nursery also recently achieved the Silver award with Eco-Schools Scotland!  Our Team encourage the children to 'Reduce, Reuse, Recycle' and take part themselves in ensuring the Nursery does all it can to minimise it's carbon footprint.

We also work alongside West Lothian College and have students come and work with us to gain knowledge and experience.

Gemma started with us 3 years ago as a student. We were so impressed with her childcare knowledge and skills that we offered her a job in Summer 2007. Gemma works with us covering holidays and days she can fit in with college. She is currently in her final few months of her HNC in Early Education and Childcare, and is set to return to us one final time as a student! In her spare time, Gemma is a skilled youth worker, working with young teenagers. Gemma brings lots of fun and new ideas to the nursery.

Lorraine is currently studying her HNC Childcare and Education at West Lothian College, and works with us on supply as a Nursery Assistant.  She was first introduced to Home from Home Childcare as a student in 2009, and after working with her, Management offered her a position within the Team.  Her smiley, polite personality brings a loving atmosphere to the children in our care who respond to this positively.  Working, at the moment, full time, Lorraine juggles her studies and work superbly, with an everlasting smile for the children, their parents, and staff and carries out her job calmly and effectively - bringing new definition to the term 'professionalism'.  Lorraine hopes to further her studies after the Summer by tackling her HND Childcare and Education at West Lothian College.
